Nurturing Young Minds

Established in 2015, Community Connect Center, (formerly the South Sudanese Foundation) is more than just an organization; it's a lifeline for New American families and children navigating the complexities of resettlement in Fargo-Moorhead. We understand the challenges – the trauma of displacement, the language barriers, the cultural adjustments – and we're here to provide the support and resources needed to thrive.

Our programs are designed to foster healing, learning, and growth, empowering individuals to embrace their new home with confidence.

Out-of-School Time (OST) Program

This dynamic program offers a safe and engaging environment for students during the school year and summer. Our culturally sensitive approach ensures that tutoring, mentoring, and English language learning are tailored to each child's unique needs.

Impact

Nearly 500 students participate annually, with middle schoolers making up half of our attendees. We've seen a remarkable 90% of students report improved confidence in English, and 75% show enhanced performance in core subjects.

21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC)

Thanks to the 21st CCLC program, we've expanded our reach to over 300 students annually in Fargo. This program specifically addresses the barriers faced by New American children, such as cultural unfamiliarity and limited parental literacy.

Bridging the Gap

We're proud to have helped students recover up to 34% of pandemic-induced learning losses, ensuring they stay on track for academic success.

Summer Camp

Summer should be a time of fun and exploration, not a time for learning to slip away. Our summer camp combines engaging activities with evidence-based academic enrichment, ensuring that kids stay sharp and excited about learning.
